 Abstract

This Current trends in construction industry demands taller and lighter structures, which are also more flexible and having quite low damping value. This increases failure possibilities and also problems from serviceability point of view. Now-a-days several techniques are available to minimize the vibration of the structure, out of the several techniques available for vibration control ,concept of using TMD is a newer one. This study was made to study the effectiveness of using TMD for controlling vibration of structure. At first a numerical algorithm was developed to investigate the response of a shear building fitted with a TMD. Then another numerical algorithm was developed to investigate the response of a 2D frame model fitted with a TMD. A total of three loading conditions were applied at the base of the structure. First one was a sinusoidal loading, the second one was corresponding to compatible time history as per spectra of IS-1894 (Part -1):2002 for 5% damping at rocky soil with (PGA = 1g) and the third one was 1940 El Centro Earthquake record with (PGA = 0.313g). From the study it was found that, TMD can be effectively used for vibration control of structures. TMD was more effective when damping ratio of the structure is less. Gradually increasing the mass ratio of the TMD results in gradual decrement in the displacement response of the structure.

 Abstract

The outbreak of COVID-19(Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus- 2) caused threatening viral pneumonia by the end of year 2019. It affects the respiratory tract mainly by binding to the ACE-2 receptors and TMPRSS2, SARS-CoV-2 belongs to the genus Beta-coronavirus, caused the global epicentre in Wuhan, China, and then transformed into a pandemic affecting millions across the world. In India, The World Health Organization and The Central Government of India are ensuring detection and Administrative management of cases suffering from SARS-CoV-2. Recommended guidelines are released by the Central Government of India, Department of Health Research (DHR) and The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). These organisations are able to control and measure the infection of SARS-CoV-2 in accordance to the guidelines of WHO and The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) health care professionals and research scientists are trying to identify, isolate, collect specimen and identify the different courses of transmission in humans, manage affected cases of covid-19 by using these recommended guidelines. The detailed genomic sequence(Compare of SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV), have many similarities and differences in their genomic structures based on its phylogenetic relationships and is useful for developing diagnostic kits, efficient anti corona virus drugs and also in development of vaccinations. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) providing funding opportunities on COVID-19 clinical trials. In this review article we are trying to focus all these points mainly in Indian perspective and our centres experiences that may help prevent the further spread of the pandemic.

 Abstract

Technology and Language Progression Abstract English language is always adapting, but these changes have come about more hastily as technology has developed in recent years. Rapidly growing influence of technology has altered the way in which we live and think. The cultural, social, and economic life of man has drastically changed. The transform was not limited to the technical things but also the very production and reception of literature. As human beings we develop our own ways to express new things, as well as adapting to different forms of communications. As the digital era has changed the way we communicate, it has also affected the way we use language. We delve deeper in to the ways digital devices have been changing our lives to see how this has affected the English language. In recent years, more and more of our communications are carried out via mobile devices, internet, and social media. These communication channels have introduced some new challenges to users, which have brought about changes in the use of language.

 Abstract

Abstract Norms could be a scale that allows conversion from raw score to a score capable of comparison and interpretations. Norms are representative of some larger population. Skill related fitness has six components namely power, speed, agility, balance, coordination and reaction time. All these components are playing important role during sports activities. Power is the ability to employ a maximum force in as short a time as possible as in accelerating, jumping and throwing implements. Power is the ability to pass the body parts promptly while applying the maximum force of the muscles. Power is a composite of both speed and muscular strength. There are so many tests to measure power of an individual. But the researcher took Standing Broad Jump test to measuring leg explosive power of the school students. Objective of the present study were- 1. to construct norms in standing broad jump test of boys students, 2. to construct norms in standing broad jump test of girls students. 3. to measure leg explosive power of school students. Highly positive correlations were found during testing Validity and Reliability of the test item. Total 800 girls and 1000 boys samples were collected from various schools in West Bengal ages between 9-14 years. After collection of data a percentile norms were prepared for boys and girls students. Percentile norms were prepared according to age group and sex wise.

 Abstract

Processing of a digital image by the use of computer algorithm is usually referred as digital image processing. Image filtering is one of the very useful techniques in image processing and computer vision. It is used to remove some unwanted signals capture the image and termed as noise . Digital filters are an integral part of signal processing which help us to remove the frequencies which are of less importance or considered unwanted, also termed as noise sometimes. Thus the digital image filtering technique is frequently used to eliminate noise. Generally image filters follows software approach in systems. But hardware implementation prefered in comparison with software implementation for better processing speed. With a boost in the VLSI technology hardware implementation has given a better choice. This project presents the design of a new hardware accelerator, filtering the input data using Gabor and Box functions and dedicated to image processing. The proposed design obtains a great reduction in terms of resources compared to other state-of-the-art implementations. In this work, a comparative study on FPGA implementation of both the Gabor filter and Box filter is presented. Simulation and Synthesis is done using Xilinx ISE design suite. Verilog code will be used as a description language for mapping algorithm in VLSI and hardware implementation on SPARTAN-3 FPGA.

 Abstract

Nowadays use of big manned helicopters and other aerial vehicles could be replaced for some applications by UAVs, this makes the applications become cheap and accessible. This also helps in economy and risk of operation of the aerial vehicles. UAVs have been widely used for the purposes like disaster scouting, supplying medical aids and extreme rescue operations and they could prove themselves far worthy and economical than its counterpart. This Hexacopter for Controlling Crowd focuses on the navigational capabilities of the Hexacopter system and how well it could be made to move between locations and control the crowd. The performance of the platform was sufficiently upgraded, allowing it to be operated in a much more precise, controlled manner which would have been needed for our intended applications. The UAV designed and developed is a multirotor with six propellers (technically called as hexa-copter). It can vertically take-off and land with the purpose to take aerial surveillance and control the crowd. Understanding and dealing with safety aspects of crowd dynamics in mass gatherings of people related to sports, religious and cultural activities is very important, specifically with respect to crowd risk analysis and crowd safety. In this regard, efficient monitoring and other safe crowd management techniques have been used to minimize the risks associated with such mass gathering. An example of these techniques is real-time monitoring of crowd using a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). In this paper, a crowd monitoring system has been proposed and tested using a bomb dropping technique i.e a smoke granite with be launched in order to control crowd. This paper also presents the non-radiative method of wireless power transmission technology to be applied for the battery charging system of drones which refers to unmanned aerial vehicles. This wireless charging system enables the continuous charging and efficient duties to overcome the limits and the time allocation, where the hexacopter will move to the designated location. The DC-DC converter system capable of charging 100W class transceiver and drone battery through the inductance mapping of the transmitter and receiver in the frequency band of 13.56Mhz, changing the shape and position of the transmitting and receiving antenna, the efficiency was confirmed to be more than 50%. Therefore, if the unmanned charging system is used for this hexacopter, it is possible to increase the utilization of the hexacopter by the efficient arrangement of the duty range and can be maintained by the present power source. The main goal is to reduce the required human resource and time in controlling the crowd. The advantage of this is an increased capability at low cost and at lower risk in terms of cost and safety.
