This article explores the role of an Academic Advising program based on personal exchanges between academic staff member and students in enhancing the latter's academic success. The contribution focuses specifically on the relevance of "Academic Advising" as an innovative strategy for boosting the academic performance of students. This strategy responds to the imperative to design appropriate interventions to effectively assist with increasing the academic success of students from disadvantaged school backgrounds, who are considered "at-risk". Put differently, Academic Advising is an intervention aimed at identifying these "at-risk" students early, and supporting them holistically with the view to increasing "access for success" in Higher Education. Impromptu conversations with staff members and students form the basis of this article which are core in eliciting both parties' experience of the particular intervention. It is shown that the success of this intervention is strongly linked to academic staff's ability to identify the personal struggles of individual students, namely, accommodation issues, reading and language challenges, and lack of career guidance. Besides improving students' academic performance, this intervention will create a sense of accomplishment, increased enthusiasm and confidence among these students, who did not initially experience such an exposure at the school level.

The modern concept of business success revolves around customer satisfaction, ethical leadership, and sustainable value creation. However, these ideas are not exclusively modern. Ancient Indian wisdom, reflected in texts such as the Arthashastra, Bhagavad Gita, Chanakya Niti, Manusmriti, and Thirukkural, provides timeless insights into managing resources, understanding human behavior, and building customer-centric enterprises. This paper explores how these classical sources conceptualized business, trade, and stakeholder value long before contemporary management theories emerged. It argues that the ancient Indian approach to business emphasizes dharma (ethical duty), artha (economic prosperity), and loka-sangraha (social welfare), all of which contribute to enduring customer value and sustainable enterprise management. By revisiting these ideas, modern businesses can integrate ethical consciousness with economic efficiency.

The paper examines the fractured narrative and thematic handling of trauma, exile, and cultural disintegration in the literature of Sinan Antoon, giving particular attention to The Corpse Washer and Ijam: An Iraqi Rhapsody. The analysis of the ruptured Iraqi identity described by Antoon is based on the framework of trauma theory and postcolonial criticism, and war literature, as the analysis will show. His characters caught between existence and purpose are the psychological leftovers of the generational trauma, cultural grief, and the ever-present need to express themselves and have control over their lives. By means of a close reading and critical approach to the literature, the present paper argues that the narrative strategies employed by Antoon can be seen as both a manner of resistance and an affirmation of human strength in the face of systematic dehumanization. His works provide a scribe of misery as well as a literary reappropriation of Iraqi voice, memory, and identity against fragmentation.

If you are interested in social issues that the world is facing today, you are not alone. Many people share your curiosity and may have taken steps to address these issues. One of the common ways in which people have responded to social problems throughout history is by writing about them. Some writers choose to use works of fiction to interpret these problems. A great example of this is the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird," a famous work that comments on social issues prevalent in the Southeastern region of the United States in the mid-1900s. Harper Lee uses her book to address the social problem of race and racism in the Southern USA. However, her commentary on race is more nuanced than it may appear, and she also frequently comments on another social problem of gender roles in the Southern USA in her novel.

Saudi Arabia is going through a major cultural shift which we can see it clearly in the way media is being used. For a long time the system was tightly controlled and leaned heavily on religious authority, but that is no longer the full picture. This continuous dichotomy is being recreated by thriving cultural organizations like the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) and dynamic events like the Diriyah Biennale, Riyadh season and Jeddah season. These efforts represent a radical rebranding in which Islam is not pitted against modernity, but rather used as a tremendous force for cultural diplomacy and economic innovation under Vision 2030. From a cultural studies perspective, this isn't a turn toward secularism. What's happening is more deliberate: the state is reframing religious language and encouraging a tone of moderation that still carries symbolic weight. Media plays the middle role here. It gives room for tradition to be expressed, even as institutional authority shifts. One of the clearest signs of the transition is how many women are now visible as journalists, creators, and filmmakers. Their presence doesn't erase tradition; it complicates it in productive ways, showing how religion, gender, and national identity are being rebuilt in conversation with each other rather than in opposition.

The rapid proliferation of scientific literature presents a significant challenge for researchers in efficiently discovering relevant information and extracting key metadata. While traditional keyword-based search engines exist, they often fail to capture the semantic nuances of complex research topics or handle the diverse layouts of scholarly documents. This has led to the development of intelligent metadata extraction systems that leverage layout analysis, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and machine learning techniques. This paper provides a survey of current approaches for automatic metadata extraction from scientific documents, particularly PDFs. We review and compare four distinct methodologies: a layout-aware BERT-based model (LAME), an automated framework combining layout analysis and specialized NLP models (AutoIE), a classification-based approach using Support Vector Machines (SVM), and a templatebased system focused on quality mining (PDFDataExtractor). We analyze these systems based on their core architecture, underlying techniques (e.g., PDFMiner, BERT, SVM, rule-based grammars), target metadata fields, and handling of document structure. This analysis is framed within the context of our own system, MetaScan, which integrates NLP enrichment and database indexing via a user-friendly interface. Our survey highlights the trade-offs between deep learning models, templatebased precision, and classical machine learning approaches in the complex domain of scientific document analysis. Index Terms--Survey, Literature Review, Metadata Extraction, NLP, Layout Analysis, PDF Processing, Machine Learning, BERT, SVM, Information Retrieval, Scientific Documents.

The manufacturing sector is quickly evolving into an automated, data-driven ecosystem powered by Industry 4.0. However, the greatest challenge is not technology adoption -- but the shortage of talent prepared to operate and maintain it. This paper examines the skill gap as the primary barrier to sustainable manufacturing growth and highlights the transformative role of Human Resources in addressing this crisis through strategic talent acquisition, development, performance reinforcement, and people-centric culture. Findings indicate that manufacturing companies that prioritize workforce capability alongside automation achieve higher productivity, retention, safety, and competitiveness.

This research study delves into the intersection of postcolonial literature and Indian identity in Shashi Tharoor's monumental work, "The Great Indian Novel." Drawing upon postcolonial theories and literary analysis, the study aims to explore how Tharoor's novel engages with the complexities of Indian identity in the aftermath of British colonial rule. The research critically examines the ways in which Tharoor employs a unique blend of satire, parody, and historical reimagining to challenge dominant narratives and interrogate the construction of Indian identity. By analysing the portrayal of characters, the narrative structure, and the intertextual references, the study uncovers the intricate layers through which Tharoor explores the postcolonial condition, the legacy of colonialism, and the struggles of national identity formation. The research further investigates the role of language, cultural symbolism, and historical reinterpretation in shaping the representation of Indian identity in the novel. Through a comprehensive analysis of "The Great Indian Novel," this research aims to contribute to the broader understanding of postcolonial literature, Indian identity, and the complex interplay between history, fiction, and nation-building.

Financial literacy has become an essential life skill for young learners in the digital era. With the rise of online transactions, UPI payments, digital banking, and increased exposure to consumer culture, school students require structured financial knowledge. This study aims to evaluate the level of financial awareness, spending behaviour, saving habits, and understanding of digital financial safety among school students. Employing a descriptive survey method, data were collected through a structured questionnaire from students of Classes 8 to 12. The findings indicate that while students show moderate awareness about digital payments, their budgeting skills, saving patterns, and knowledge of financial concepts remain limited. The study concludes with recommendations for integrating financial literacy into school curricula and conducting regular training programs.

Abstract: Even though the oral route is the most popular way to administer drugs, many pharmaceuticals face difficulties such quick stomach emptying, brief stomach residence time, and poor intestine solubility. Gastro-retentive drug delivery systems (GRDDS) were created to overcome these restrictions by extending the amount of time dosage forms remain in the stomach, improving drug absorption and overall therapeutic efficacy. Because they offer prolonged medication release and stay buoyant on stomach contents, floating drug delivery systems (FDDS) are one of the most popular methods. However, differences in stomach physiology may have an impact on their performance. Mucoadhesive polymers are added to the system to improve stability and dependability by enabling the dosage form to stick to the stomach mucosa and stay there for extended periods of time. Mucoadhesive floating systems, which combine both buoyancy and mucosal adhesion, offer a more effective approach for prolonged gastric retention. Polymers such as HPMC, Carbopol, and chitosan are commonly used to enhance adhesion, improve bioavailability, ensure controlled drug release, and reduce the frequency of dosing. All things considered, these methods hold great promise for medications that require extended stomach retention or are mostly absorbed in the upper gastrointestinal tract.
