Infection prevention remains a cornerstone of oral surgical practice due to the inherent exposure of sterile tissues to the oral cavity's diverse microbiota. Antibiotics play a critical role in minimizing postoperative infections; however, their widespread misuse has contributed to the alarming rise of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This review examines the role of antibiotics in oral surgery, outlining prophylactic and therapeutic indications, commonly used agents, and evidence-based dosage regimens. It emphasizes the importance of antibiotic stewardship programs (ASPs) in promoting rational prescribing practices tailored to specific clinical needs, patient factors, and local microbial profiles. The review further highlights research gaps in standardized protocols, the necessity for regional stewardship frameworks, and the potential role of artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics in optimizing antibiotic use. Strengthening clinician education, adherence to aseptic principles, and evidence-based decision-making are vital to ensuring safe and sustainable antibiotic use in oral surgery.

The growing prevalence of diet-related health issues has prompted increased emphasis on nutrition education, particularly concerning dietary fiber and millet consumption. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a structured awareness program on the knowledge level of students regarding millets. A pre-test-post-test research design was adopted, and participants' knowledge was assessed using a 25-item questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using ANOVA to determine statistically significant differences in knowledge levels. The results revealed that 21 out of the 25 items demonstrated a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.05) following the awareness program, indicating a major positive influence on students' understanding, recognition, and behavioral intentions toward incorporating millets as a dietary fiber source. Four items (Q3, Q7, Q11, and Q17) showed no significant difference, suggesting either existing baseline knowledge or difficulties related to visual or contextual identification. Overall, the post-test mean scores confirmed a substantial enhancement in cognitive, factual, and practical knowledge dimensions. The study concludes that targeted awareness programs are effective tools for improving nutrition literacy and can support healthier dietary behaviors among students, underscoring the need for continued educational initiatives.

In today's post-9/11 era, writers use fiction to explore new ideas about victims and blame by describing trauma, identity, and the confusion about doing what is right. This study focuses on Jess Walter's The Zero, Mohsin Hamid's The Reluctant Fundamentalist, and Yasmina Khadra's The Attack to see how these stories avoid the usual divisions between innocent and guilty or us and them. It is revealed through analysis that The Zero highlights the breakdown of American institutions and a loss of morals, and The Reluctant Fundamentalist describes the challenges faced by Muslims in the West due to alienation and stereotyping. It also debunks usual stereotypes by showing the human side of its Arab character and highlighting the painful effects of being accepted only under certain conditions. All three authors use narrative pieces that never fully finish, suggesting the many struggles and social isolation that come with identity issues after trauma. By changing the focus of victimhood and blame, these books introduce new ideas that challenge major and widely accepted versions of the attacks, motivating readers to consider their values, background, and sympathy for what followed 9/11.
